We are living in an age that could have been designed by Kali herself.

Kali is the immensely powerful Hindu goddess in charge of change, creation, destruction and death. She uncompromisingly destroys the old and generates the new, upholds ultimate reality, and is worshipped as both the Mother of the Universe and the Divine Mother.

All around us these days we see Kali at work in the destruction of what we have taken for granted. We are no longer living in a stable, predictable world. As capitalism expresses itself in more and more psychopathic forms, we see the destruction of lives, wellbeing and the social contract. We see repressive forces attacking democracy as autocratic leaders emerge worldwide. We see savage genocidal wars with gratuitous scorched earth policies. We see the wholesale poisoning of the biosphere as global warming advances. It is as though the seeds of destruction that have long lain dormant in our major systems of civilization are now springing up like an advancing army of triffids.

It can be terrifying to see the cracks appearing in the civilization that has for so long been our life support system. These are enormously challenging times that we’re in as our very survival seems threatened.

The only thing that can give meaning to the current wave of destruction is to know that it’s actually part of a much larger plan for humanity. This plan reflects the ancient understandings embodied in the worship of Kali, that the old must die so that the new can emerge, and that the new will be a better, more faithful mirror of ultimate reality.

In his book, LSD and the Mind of the Universe, Christopher Bache describes this master plan for humanity, shown to him during his spiritual journeys into the heart of the Universe. This plan includes the collapse of our current civilization, a time of bare survival and great suffering, and then the emergence of a new enlightened way of living as luminous Future Humans.

It seems that the collapse he speaks of is already under way, and will quickly accelerate, driven by accelerating climate chaos. No-one, no matter how wealthy or privileged, will be able to escape the shattering of life as we know it, and everyone will be forced into a melting pot of sheer survival.

This will lead to great suffering, intense anguish and a very dark night of the human soul, existing for generations. Chris tells us that the suffering will be so widespread, deep and long-lasting that it will drive our collective species Mind into higher and higher levels of arousal such that it begins to function differently. Our pain will have a profound purifying effect on the collective poisons of humanity’s past. And when our collective pain becomes unbearable, we will change.

Just when it seems that we can hang on no longer, the chaos will settle, a new dawn will break, and the survivors will come together as enlightened, luminous Future Humans, ready to create new ways of living together in peace, harmony, equality and love.

This change in consciousness has already started, and is already gathering speed. Its seeds were sown by the nature worship of indigenous peoples, and the great spiritual masters of antiquity, such as Confucius, the Buddha, Christ and Mohammed. Their teachings were brought forward over generations as devotees embraced various meditation, religious and devotional practices, all with the goal of greater awareness and living more fully as spirit. In the 20^th century, the explosion of psychological knowledge added greatly to our self-understanding, and when combined with the perennial spiritual wisdom, became an enormously potent tool for self-realization. The teachings of Gurdjieff, Naranjo, and A.H.Almaas are brilliant examples of a seamless blend of psychology and spirituality which leaves no shadow unexamined, personal or spiritual, in the quest for enlightenment.

Chris tells us that those of us born at this time in history have chosen to be here to precipitate the intense cycle of collective purification that we are entering. Many of us now have the tools and the understanding to go about purifying our own dark places, and have been diligently applying ourselves to the task. By transforming our individual lives, we are making it more possible for succeeding generations to tap into maps and methods for spiritual growth, and for enlightened awareness to arise. It seems that we have already been packing a suitcase for the journey.

Chris shares his awareness that the Universal Intelligence driving the destruction, death and rebirth is one of infinite Love. This Love cares for us so much that it wants us to manifest the luminous potential that we are at our core. It knows that the only way there, given our human condition, is for us to know in exquisite detail the suffering that our own darkness brings. The light of that knowing can then clarify the darkness, transforming it into light, and allowing divinity to dwell in every cell of our being.

Kali is the destroyer, but she is also the Divine Mother who births a new order of truth. And our deepest truth is that we are every one luminous drops of the divine embedded with the glowing seeds of a Future Human.
