Peter Deunov was born in Bulgaria in 1864, the third child of a Bulgarian Orthodox Priest. As a young adult, he studied theology in both Bulgaria and the United States. But it was in 1897, when he was 33 years old, that the course of his life was changed forever by a profound mystical infusion of Divine Spirit. This experience compelled him to accept the role of spiritual master, one that he had held in previous lives. He accepted this mission, and steadfastly followed his spiritual duty for the rest of his life, working with his countrymen for ‘the acceptance of Divine Love, Wisdom and Truth, as the highest ideal for man’.

As part of his calling, he created many assemblies, gave thousands of speeches and lectures, wrote a number of books and in 1922, opened an esoteric school, The School of the Universal White Brotherhood, which was dedicated to the continuation and practice of his teachings.

After a lifetime of these many services to Spirit, just days before his death in 1944, he gave a final great gift to the world. He entered a state of trance, and while in trance delivered a powerful prophecy about upcoming times for humanity and the Earth.

He told us that for thousands of years the Earth has been traversing a dusty area of space which has poisoned all her inhabitants, but that we are about to leave this orbit of darkness and attain a more spiritual zone. While he notes that a gradual improvement in humanity’s thoughts and actions has already been under way, he also points out that the current state of humanity is still one of great ignorance and suffering. We worship money and power, have no idea where true happiness lies, and live as though we are captives and slaves.

He predicts that an immense wave of cosmic energy will inundate the Earth and bring with it a new morality. This vast Fire will affect not just the Earth and all her inhabitants, but the entire cosmos.

This Fire will carry off all those who oppose the wave or whose consciousness is not sufficiently elevated. There will be revolutions and great bloodshed. Our current civilization will be completely extinguished in a fury of Earthly events including earthquakes, hurricanes, floods and fires. Land will be replaced with water, and water with land.

This will be the Mother Earth’s reply to the crimes perpetrated by humanity against her. In the end there will be no trace left of our mistaken culture that keeps us all under such a burden of ignorance. The terror and suffering that will result from the destruction of our world will be truly terrible, but the prophecy tells us that it is a necessary condition for the awakening of a higher consciousness for humanity.

The Fire will purify everything, bringing not just destruction, but renewal and restoration. For those of us who remain, all negative thoughts and actions will be destroyed, and our hearts, freed from anguish and uncertainty, will shine with luminosity.

The prophecy tells us that the entire Universe is being moved towards a new orientation, the orientation of Love, and that in the future, everything will be moved by the force of Love, and everyone will serve Love. It affirms that Love is the greatest force in the Universe, and that only Love has the power to make the world right.

The only thing that we can do now is to turn towards God, heighten our consciousness and elevate our vibration so that we will be in harmony with the great wave that is coming. The progress of every individual becomes the progress of the whole of humanity. The vibration of the Earth is increasing, and we must do our best to harmonize with her ever-heightening energies.

The prophecy also tells us that after all the destruction and suffering, a Golden Age will emerge, one of harmony and limitless beauty. Humanity is actually on the cusp of two epochs, and the current suffering of humanity is actually the birth pains of the new human being.

It indicates that a new, ‘sixth race’ of humans will evolve, which will have Love and fraternity as fundamental principles. A new civilization will be founded on these ideals by the ‘Children of Love’, and humanity will know itself as a single body, and each person as an organ in that body. The new culture will ‘rest on three primary foundations, the elevation of women, the elevation of the meek and humble, and the protection of the rights of man.’

Men and women will enjoy a mutual value and respect and create a harmonious rapport, each able to follow their own aspirations. There will be time for the spiritual, the intellectual and the artistic. Ideas will circulate as freely as the wind. There will be respect for the freedom of others, and a respect for animals that will result in humans nourishing themselves only with plants.

Separate individuals, races and nations will know that they are part of the great whole of humanity. They will know that individual welfare depends on the welfare of the whole organism.

The great wave will dissolve personal karma, and as we remember former lives, we will notice that we are finally liberated from our previous ignorance. Interpersonal conflict will disappear as the Law of Love reigns supreme, and all religions will unite around Love as the foundational belief.

The Earth will become a nurturing home for the new era of humanity. The climate will become moderate again, with no more brutal extremes, and the air and water will once again be pure.

A new continent will emerge from the Pacific Ocean as a home for the Golden Age and a place where God can establish His place on the planet. The goal of all individuals will be to conform more perfectly to the dictates of Love, and the Earth will become a truly blessed planet where Love reigns supreme.
